This is the second Homeward Bound disney adventure. The characters are Sassy, the pet cat, Shadow, the wise old timer, and Chance, the fun loving American Bulldog who is newest to the family. The whole family, including the pets, are going on a vacation when the animals escape at the airport in San Francisco before even getting onto the airplane. They run into a few problems on their journey to get home when they run into Riley's Gang. Riley becomes good friends with the pets, and Chance falls in love with Delialah, one of the stray dogs in Riley's Gang. Riley helps point the trio on their way to the Golden Gate Bridge so they could find their way home. Chance becomes depressed on his way home, thinking Delialah didn't want to come with him until they finally make it home. After a series of hazards Delialah shows up at their home. The family then takes in Delialah.
This thrilling hit is favored by people of all audiences. It is a funny adventure that is going to please everyone. There is happy ending, so no one is left unhappy. This is the second time these three pets have traveled many miles to make it back to their home. It makes people believe anything is possible with a lost pet and the love of an animal companion; also how animals play a large part in our lives. My favorite character is Chance by far. He plays the young pup that's still learning the reigns in life. He is incredibly goofy, and is very uncoordnated and runs into absolutely everything. He can make anyone laugh and have a better day, especially the way him and Sassy bicker back and forth. This is one of my favorite movies, I rate it an A+.

The Lanterns
Rapunzel is the main character in the story. She is the princess in the movie Tangled. She has magical hair that can heal people, and make them feel young when being touched with her hair while she sings. As a child she was stole by a whitch named Mother Gothel, she impersonated Rapunzel's mother and kept her locked up in a tower in the woods. She has a pet Camillion that is very loyal, and follows her everywhere. A young thief named Flinn Ryder is trying to escape the police and tries to hide in the tower. Rapunzel tells him that in exchange for his precious crown he must act as her guide. She runs away from her home in the tower in search of the floating lights that appear every year on her birthday. Leaving the tower leads her to discover who she really is, and even without her long blonde hair she can still heal people she cares about. In the end she is reunited with her family in the palace, and Flinn becomes a part of the family.
The movie Tangled, has a great storyline. It has a meaning that has to be uncovered, that going through your life your going to try to give your life meaning and find out who you are. It is a very child appropriate film, and is very well suited for the family. I greatly enjoyed this movie. This movie has action, some musical qualities, its very funny, and also has a little bit of romantic parts. I rate this movie an A.

Fly Away Home
Fly Away Home came out in 1996. It is about a young girl having to go live with her father because her mother died. She has to move in with her father who lives in Canada. They struggled getting to know each other at first. The girl finds a family of goose eggs abandoned in the woods that is being torn down for a development. Her and her father try to raise the geese, and want to get them to fly South for the winter. Her father invents things and was making a flying machine; he came up with the plan to use the flying machine to get the geese to follow him South. Teaching these geese how to fly brings them closer together as a family. At the end they have some troubles while flying, and it's quite an adventure they embark on.
The movie Fly Away Home is inspiring. I watched it when I was a little girl and decided to rent it when I found it at the public library. This is a great movie for the family, it shows the troubles within families and how nothing is greater than the love they share. The baby geese are so adorable, and the girl is just like any other kid taking care of the geese: caring, understanding, and loving. I love this movie, it's quite old but still just as captivating. This movie is an A.

Eight Below
Eight Below is a tragic tale about a team of sled dogs and researchers in Alaska. There is a huge storm, and the team of sled dogs almost doesn't make it back. The sled dog trainer and driver Jerry Shepard is played by Paul Walker, he gets frostbite on his hands and must betransported out of there quickly. The team had to leave without the dogs, because they needed to get out of there before the storm hit. Jerry didn't know they left the dogs because he was unconcious for the trip back. The movie watches the struggles the dogs face on their own, and Jerry struggling to get back to them. The movie does have a happy ending.
I am in love with this movie. It has a great story line, and is very intense watching the dogs try to survive. The love that Jerry has for his dogs is inspiring. I reccomend this movie to most families, but it's very sad with the dogs almost not making it. So if the child loves dogs, it may not be a good idea to let them watch Eight Below. Paul Walker is my favorite actor, he is so dreamy. I rate this movie an A+.

Alvin, Theodore, and Simon
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is the return of the Chipmunks; Alvin, Theodore, and Simon are now going to try to be normal teenage chipmunks and attend high school. Dave their dad is in a hospital in London after a terrible accident on stage. They are left with his mother who also soon becomes in the hospital; they are left in the care of Dave’s nephew Toby. They struggle with high school, because they are no longer the super popular, and go through hazing. Alvin, Theodore, and Simon try to help out there high school by winning the battle of the bands competition to receive $25,000. The Chipettes soon come into the picture and are their competition. They fall for each other, and then perform together to win the competition for their school.
I saw the Alvin and the Chipmunks first movie a long time ago, and really liked it. I debated on renting this one, but I’m glad I did. It was very interesting and it made me laugh, there were never any boring parts. This movie is appropriate for any age, and I highly recommend it to any family. What child wouldn’t like to watch dancing, singing chipmunks? My favorite character is Theodore; he is the hefty sweet chipmunk.

The big blue head!
The movie Megamind is about a young alien that’s blue with a big head, and grows up with his arch nemesis, Megaman. Megamind kills off Megaman, and becomes bored with no one to challenge him and his evil ways. He is a super genius and creates a new Superhero to make his life more interesting again. It isn’t until Megamind starts to fall in love with Roxanne Richie the news reporter that’s really kind. Megamind starts to change his ways, and you will have to watch the rest of the movie to find out what happens.
I plan to but this movie as soon as it comes out. It made me giggle, and was so interesting. Sometimes it’s hard for me to keep paying attention to some movies but this one definitely kept my attention. I think this movie might be a little too intellectual for children under age 6. This would make a great family movie, and would definitely lighten the mood. I rate this movie an A++. Hope you like it!

Finding Nemo
Marlin is an overprotective clownfish that lives with his son Nemo in a sea Anemone in the movie Finding Nemo. On Nemo’s first day at school, he swims out in the drop off to prove he can swim well even with his deformed fin. Nemo gets captured by some divers, and gets put in a fish tank in a dentist office. Marlin travels through the Ocean, with a fish named Dory to find his son; he learns to take risks. It’s a long journey but once Marlin and Nemo are reunited, Marlin starts letting Nemo be more independent.
This is an older family movie, and is very popular. Finding Nemo always makes me laugh, and Dory is a funny character, because she has short term memory loss. This movies theme is about how parents must learn to let go of their children at some point, and give the child their freedom. This movie has a good lesson for parents, and is entertaining for the rest of the family. Finding Nemo is a great movie to watch with the family. I give this movie an A+.

Shark Tale
Shark Tale was produced in 2004, by Dream Works’ Animation. The son of a shark mob boss is found dead, and Oscar was found at the scene. Will Smith is the voice of Oscar. Oscar takes credit for killing the Shark, and he becomes popular. Angie worked with him at the local Whale Wash before he became popular, and has a huge crush on him. Lola is the fish that only dates, depending on the fish’s social standing. Lola is very good looking but shallow, and Oscar likes her. Oscar finds himself lying to everyone, and Lenny the Vegetarian shark whose brother had died tries to help him. Lenny and Oscar devise a plan, to get them both out of trouble.
This movie kept me laughing. Although it’s animated, it’s more appropriate for teenagers of age 13 and older. There are things in this movie unsuitable for children. It refers to: gambling, gangsters, stereotypical features, inside jokes relating to the god father, and metaphors about being homosexual. Not one of these topics is suitable for children, which is the targeted audience. I love this movie, but I wouldn’t recommend available for children under 13 years old. I rate this movie an A-.

Madagascar-Escape 2 Africa
Madagascar Escape 2 Africa is the second movie made based off of animals coming from a zoo in New York. Alex the Lion, went back home to Africa, with his friends: Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo. They were on a plane with the crazy penguins as the pilots, when the plane went down close to where Alex grew up as a cub. Alex meets his parents, and has to prove himself as a lion. Alex misunderstood the fight to be a dance off. With Alex not completing this step into manhood, he gets banished from the watering hole. The king lion is Alex's father, and he refuses to banish his son. He gives up his position, and the bad lion takes over. For some reason the watering hole goes dry, so Marty and Alex set off to fix the problem. I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it. Although the movie does have a happy ending.
This movie made me giggle, all the way through. I enjoyed this incredible movie. My favorite characters are the penguins. They make the movie worth it. This movie's most appropriate for children about 6 and older. There are a few mature parts in the movie, that are unsuitable for children. This movie did win the 2009 Kids Choice Award for Favorite Animated Movie. I rate this movie an A+. Hopefully soon I will own this movie.

In the movie Up, Carl Fredricksen meets a young adventerous girl named Ellie. They get married, and have a dream of going to the wilderness in South America, to see Paradise Falls. There is a bad guy in the area, whom created talking dogs to track down the large bird. One of the dogs, Doug, isn't very smart, and becomes friends with the group including the bird. Doug is supposed to take the bird as his prisoner.
I now own this movie, because I liked it so much! It shows you can have friendships, with all different sorts of people and creatures. The movie Up is appropriate for all ages. My favorite character is Doug, he loves everyone, and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I rate this movie an A+.

Marmaduke
It is an Animated movie, in which the main character is Marmaduke. He is a big great Dane; Owen Wilson is the voice of Marmaduke, and there is the father named Phil, three kids and the mother. There is also the family cat named Carlos, which the voice is George Lopez. The family moves form Kansas to Southern California. The movie is about Marmaduke trying to find his place in the dogie world, in Southern California. In the end Marmaduke picks his fake pure bred friends over his real ones. Everyone is mad at Marmaduke so he decides to run away, and then get stuck in a dilemma. His real friends take him back into the group, and his family becomes a real family again. The movie Marmaduke has a happy ending.
I am in love with this movie! It teaches a good lesson, on how to not betray your real friends. The real friends and family are the ones that are really going to be there for you. I recommend this movie for any age groups. It is sure to make anyone laugh, and a great family movie. Marmaduke deserves an A+.

How to Train Your Dragon
This movie is about a young boy growing up in a Viking village. Dragons are often pillaging the village. Hiccup is the boy’s name. His father is the leader of the village, and knows he is different and not meant to be a warrior but an inventor. Hiccup wants to be a Viking warrior, until he captures the most dangerous dragon. He realizes he can kill the dragon, he has too much heart. He released the dragon, but it turned on Hiccup, and then flies away. Hiccup finds that the dragon is injured and wants to help him. He names the dragon Toothless, but he has retractable teeth. He becomes best friends with the Toothless, and creates a fake wing for him. Teaches him to use it, and rides Toothless. While training Toothless, Hiccup is going through his own dragon killing training. Hiccup’s father tries to kill the dragon, and you will have to watch to find what happens next.
There aren’t any inappropriate references that I noticed. So I would say it’s appropriate for most children. It had a really good moral to the story as well. This whole time the Vikings thought that Dragons were bad, but in reality they weren’t. They just needed to open up more. It deserves an A-: because it's cute, shows that friendship has no boundaries, and Hiccup is funny to watch because he is so dorky.

Toy Story 3
Toy Story 3 is a sequel to the original Toy Story. It's about toys that can talk, have human emotions, and can come to life. Woody is the main character along with Buzz Lightening, and they are Andy's toys. Some of the other characters are Slinky the toy slinky dog, Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe Head, Rex the dinosaur, Jessie the cowgirl and Bullseye her trusty stead, and a few new characters. They are upset because Andy is headed off to college and they thought he didn't want them anymore. They climbed in the donation box to go to a Day Care. Where they are abused by kids not age appropriate for them. They spend time trying to escape........ Do they escape and make it back home? Does Andy trully want them back? You have to watch the movie to find out.
I watched Toy Story 3 multiple times, and found it very funny. There were a few scary parts, times when the toys weren't full clothed, and inappropriate inuendoes. I would say it's more appropraite for children over the age of seven. I have liked every Toy Story I have seen and I think it deserves an A!

Intro to my Blog
The topic I chose to write on is Animated, and Family movies. I chose this topic because I love watching children movies and they are often funny. I will determine the most appropriate audience for the specified movie. I hope my blog will help people easily decide on what movies to rent, and which ones they can watch with the whole family.
